Copyleaks Expands Executive Leadership Team, Welcoming Thomas Adelgren as Vice President of Customer Success and Michael Smith as Vice President of Sales

Amidst record growth, new executive leaders are tapped to empower enterprises worldwide to confidently navigate the ever-evolving landscape of genAI

New York, NY — August 1, 2024 — Copyleaks, a pioneering force in AI-based text analysis, AI governance, and plagiarism detection, announced two key executive hires today in the face of ongoing record growth. With more than 40 years of combined industry expertise, Thomas Adelgren and Michael Smith bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and leadership to the expanding business, offering enterprises transparency, visibility, and integrity in a post-ChatGPT world.

Adelgren, a 17-year Salesforce veteran—first as part of the leadership team building the Northern European organization to a multi-million dollar business and then building and leading customer success teams across the U.S.—will oversee the company’s Client Success function.  In this role, he will ensure that the business continues to bring value to customers and delivers on the company’s goals. An expert in creating and leading scalable and outcome-driven organizations, Adelgren has experience across several industries globally, including with Maersk, the world’s largest shipping company, and Spotify.

“I am excited to join Copyleaks at such a pivotal moment in the evolution of AI,” said Adelgren. “The company’s commitment to ensuring responsible AI adoption and addressing the critical challenges posed by AI-driven content creation aligns perfectly with my passion for customer success. I look forward to contributing to Copyleaks’ mission in shaping the future of content integrity.”

Smith will oversee all enterprise sales functions, leading the organization’s robust enterprise, education, and channel sales teams. A veteran of the startup world, Smith has led and scaled more than half a dozen diverse, highly effective, global enterprise sales teams—some with 200+ sales team members—for more than 15 years, with several successful exits under his belt. An advisor to several startup and high-growth stage companies, Smith has deep expertise in building go-to-market strategies that generate scalable, predictable hypergrowth.

“Copyleaks is clearly leading the charge in addressing the growing opportunities and challenges posed by AI-generated content,” said Smith. “I’m thrilled to join a team with such a strong mission and innovative product suite. Copyleaks’ dedication to customer success aligns perfectly with my own values, and I’m eager to contribute to the company’s continued record-breaking growth.”

“This expansion of our executive leadership team underscores our commitment to remaining at the forefront of AI innovation while ensuring our customers have the support they need to harness the full potential of generative AI,” said Alon Yamin, CEO and Co-founder of Copyleaks.  “Thomas and Michael bring a collective level of expertise that will be instrumental in guiding our clients through the complex AI landscape and the continued evolution of our product offering. With these strategic additions, we’re poised to accelerate our goal of empowering enterprises worldwide in this rapidly evolving technological era.”
