For Text Detection, yes. Copyleaks scans AI-generated text and checks for potential plagiarism in a single report. Our unified text detection portfolio combines advanced AI analysis and plagiarism matching to give you complete insight in one scan.

For Image Detection, no. Copyleaks only scans for AI and provides a visual report on where there is AI presence within an image. We do not check for potential image plagiarism.

When a Large Language Model writes a sentence, it uses all its pre-training data to create a response or an output based on statistical modeling. AI detectors can recognize this pattern and flag certain content as AI-generated because it significantly differs from the way humans write.

AI detectors can be trained on human-written content samples, so the presence of an AI text generator becomes clearer compared to human writing.

The Copyleaks AI Image Detector uses advanced machine learning combined with forensic image analysis to identify patterns consistent with AI generation or manipulation. The system reviews an image for anomalies and then presents a visual overlay showing areas most likely to have been altered by AI.

Yes, this would fall under Text Detection. With Image-to-Text OCR technology, users can parse text directly from an image to identify copied content. This is a handy tool for assignments that are submitted on paper rather than typed on the computer. Like any other file, you can simply upload the image file and the text will be extracted and then compared against the internet and other databases. 

Accepted Image-to-Text OCR files currently include: gif, png, bmp, jpg, jpeg

If you’d like to detect pixel-level AI manipulations within the image, then it is recommended to use the AI Image Detector.

Personal and Pro plans are subscription-based and include a monthly credit allowance. 1 credit covers up to 250 words or 1 image. Choose the plan that fits your workflow, and upgrade anytime as your needs grow. 

Enterprise and Education plans are custom-tailored based on your organization’s size, integration needs, and usage volume. These plans are designed for large teams, institutions, or districts and include advanced features, analytical resources, and support. You’ll work directly with our team to build a solution that scales with your needs and goals.

We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. For added convenience, you can also use Google Pay or Apple Pay.

For Personal and Pro plans, your monthly scan limit is based on credits. One credit allows you to scan up to 250 words or 1 image. For example, 100 credits equals up to 25,000 words or 100 images. While formatting can vary for text detection, this typically equates to about 100 standard pages (at ~250 words per page).

For Enterprise and Education, scan volume is tailored to your organization’s needs, which is determined during onboarding to ensure your plan aligns with your organization’s usage goals. Speak with our team to explore the best-fit package for your institution or business.

If you reach your monthly credit allowance on a Personal or Pro plan, you have two options:
You can upgrade your plan to access more monthly credits, or purchase additional one-time credits to continue scanning without interruption. Your allowance resets at the start of each new billing cycle, and you’ll receive notifications as you approach your limit.

For Enterprise and Education users, scan volume is customized in advance. Our customer success team will assist in adjusting your plan accordingly.

Yes, you can cancel or change your plan at any time, but there are a few important things to keep in mind:


• All plans renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing cycle. Monthly plans are not one-time purchases; your subscription will continue until you cancel it.


• Canceling a plan stops future renewals but does not immediately end your current access. You’ll retain access until the end of your billing period.


• Upgrading or downgrading is possible, but Copyleaks plans don’t stack. Switching plans will override your current plan, including any remaining credits. For example, changing from an annual AI-only plan to a monthly AI + Plagiarism plan will forfeit the unused annual credits.


• Refunds are not guaranteed upon cancellation. If you believe you’re eligible, you must contact support to request a refund directly.
• We will only issue a refund if you submitted your request within the first 10 days of your billing cycle and did not scan any pages or use any credits from your account.
