According to Copyleaks data, ChatGPT-generated content is being scanned at a rate 51 times higher than content produced by Google AI’s Bard, showing ChatGPT’s dominant role in the field of AI-generated content.

“This data clearly shows that ChatGPT is used much more frequently than Bard,” said Alon Yamin, CEO and Co-founder of Copyleaks. “ChatGPT, having entered the market just about a year ago, quickly became the fastest adopted technology the world has ever seen, making it the go-to choice for those seeking AI-generated content. In contrast, Bard, despite being developed by Alphabet and having their backing, hasn’t yet achieved the same degree of recognition or ease of use.”

The study, conducted by four researchers from around the world, analyzed data collected from 124 submissions from computer science students before the creation of ChatGPT. They then generated 40 ChatGPT submissions and used the data to evaluate eight publicly available LLM-generated text detectors.
